Rachael's Favorites & Traditions

With 5 busy little boys, Rachael is very intentional to make each year meaningful for each boy. She creates for each one a Christmas box containing the following;

  • An ornament to symbolize that child's year

  • A copy of the family Christmas Card for the year

  • A letter from her

Rachael also loves to use Advent Blocks from GoodKind with her boys in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Read her review of the blocks on her blog, here.

Favorites

Song: O Come, O Come, Emmanuel

Movie: Borrowed Hearts

Recipe: She couldn't pick just one, so here are several of her favorites.

Caitlin's Favorites & Traditions

Caitlin keeps a running list on her phone, year round, of gift ideas and she and her husband start a Christmas savings account every January. The money goes in each month and they can't touch it until October.

Song: Santa Clause is Coming to Town by Bruce Springsteen

Movie: It's a Wonderful Life

Recipe: Last year, Caitlin made Beef Bourginion and it was so easy and such a hit, she thinks it will be a tradition from now on. From Caitlin....

I followed this recipe  I just reduced the wine used and I personally used chunks of stew meat because I’m on budget (ha!) oh and I served over homemade mashed potatoes because I’m alllll about that!!! This was delightful and the dutch did all the heavy lifting for me!

Mystie's Favorites & Traditions

When her kids were little, Mystie would set the Christmas breakfast table the night before, putting everyone's filled stocking on their plate. Whenever the children woke they were allowed to open their stockings before breakfast.

Song: Joy to the World

Cookie: Sugar cookie with plenty of icing and both cookie and icing should have a little bit of almond extract in the recipe.

Recipe: It wouldn't be Christmas morning without her mother-in-law's cream cheese braid.  https://www.southernliving.com/recipes/cream-cheese-pastries-0
