Fall Homemaking Ramble 2026
It's time for another seasonal homemaking ramble with my friend and sometimes-cohost, Jessica Fisher, of GoodCheapEats.com. Join us as we discuss our fall favorites. We are sharing favorite fall foods, books (along with what we are reading lately), movies, fall budget-friendly hospitality ideas and how we are kicking off soup season in our homes. We round out our discussion, as always, with what we are learning about aging gracefully, particularly coming to terms with our changing appearance.

Favorite Fall Warm Drinks
Allison's Spiced Cider
Pour 1 gallon apple cider into a large stock pot. Add 2 cinnamon sticks, 1 tsp whole cloves, 1 tsp whole nutmeg, add the juice of 1 lemon. Bring to a low boil on medium, reduce heat a simmer for 1 hour. Strain and serve hot or keep in fridge up to 1 week. Reheat by the mug-full as needed, or try iced if your weather is like mine in the fall!
